Mare Breaks Up

This band has some heavy interest on these pages due to originating from the Toronto area. I witnessed them live opening on a Canadian tour with Cursed, Terror, and Converge, and I think there may have been a few people at that show who didn’t quite get what Mare was playing at that show... I’ve heard of Mare described as a combination of doom while at the same time fitting into that world of metalgaze/atmospheric hardcore popularized by Neurosis, Isis, and Cult Of Luna.

Mare had only one release, their self-titled EP through Hydra Head Records and Translation Loss Records which was originally released as a demo by the band themselves before they broke up.

As a side note, the vocalist Tyler Semrick - Palmateer was the original vocalist in the Canadian band known as The End.
